《刺客教條》於2007年首次亮相，向全球介紹了Altaïr、刺客兄弟會、聖殿騎士團和伊甸之碎，開創了一個至今已售出超過1.55億部的遊戲系列。
為了慶祝《刺客教條》的第15週年，Ubisoft和Laced Records聯手推出了《刺客教條：跳入歷史》— 一套特別的5碟黑膠唱片套裝，涵蓋了這個悠久遊戲系列的12部遊戲。這個標準版本採用了傳統的黑色唱片。
聽眾將通過這套套裝經歷一場真正的史詩般的時空之旅，從古代的《刺客教條：奧德賽》開始，直至現代的《刺客教條：辛迪加》。每面黑膠唱片都包括了主線遊戲中的音樂（Ezio的續作《兄弟會》和《啟示錄》共用一面，就像《團結》和《叛變》一樣）。
這套集精選的70首曲目都經過特殊的黑膠唱片母帶處理，並將被壓製成重型LPs。這些唱片將放入印有圖案的內套中，全部緊緊裝入一個鍍金的堅固板滑套中。
所有曾參與《刺客教條》的作曲家和音樂家都面臨著一個挑戰，那就是在包裹人類歷史的重大時期的同時，仍能吸引動作冒險遊戲玩家。Jesper Kyd —— 這系列的音樂基調的建立者 —— 在《刺客教條II》中不小心創作出了“Ezio的家族”這首歌，這是關於文藝復興時期佛羅倫薩的失落和鬥爭的感人之作。
